Janet Acheatel brings over thirty years of experience in the investment management and financial services industries. Janet’s full scope of professional experience encompasses invaluable skills in financial planning, portfolio management, client communications, marketing, and departmental and interdepartmental management.

Prior to joining HoyleCohen, Janet held the position of Portfolio Manager at Brandes Investment Partners. She was responsible for the implementation of investment decisions, ensuring adherence to investment guidelines, and providing client communications for portfolios with combined assets of over eight billion dollars.

For nine years, Janet was Senior Institutional Client Service Officer and Vice President of Marketing Communications and Research at Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management. Earlier in her financial career, Janet was Executive Vice President at Lexington Capital Management, where she served on the firm’s investment policy committee and was Principal for the firm’s Advisory and Broker/Dealer divisions. She was also a Trustee for the employee retirement plan and managed various departments within the firm. Notably, Janet’s career in the financial services industry began as Associate Vice President with Dean Witter Reynolds, where she earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and where she first started providing personal financial planning advice.

Janet earned her MBA from National University and BA from the University of Rhode Island. She is a founding member and past President of PAICR (Professional Association for Investment Communications Resources) and currently serves on the Advisory Committee. Janet also serves on the Investment Committee for the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego.
