Mr. Pastena is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Empowerment Coach (CEC) with more than thirty years of experience in the financial services industry.
Mr. Pastena is the founder of MCP Services (MCP), a corporate training, consulting, coaching , and tutoring organization.
In addition, he is on the Adjunct faculty of Baruch College in NYC and Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY) teaching finance courses in the professional studies, undergraduate and graduate programs. Mr. Pastena also serves as a non-public arbitrator for FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).
He co-founded Advisors’ Education Group, Inc. (AEG) , a company that provided training for the staff of investment advisory firms. Leveraging his 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, he developed a curriculum of approximately 20 workshops and seminars dedicated to the training needs of the staff of investment management firms and the providers of services to the investment management industry. In addition to course content, marketing and managing the business, he has personally instructed a number of sessions in both classroom settings and live webinars.
Prior to co-founding AEG he was a Principal and the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer of an institutional investment management firm in New York City. In this position, he was responsible for portfolio administration and accounting, performance measurement and portfolio analysis, compliance, information technology, human resources, strategic planning, new business development, finance and accounting.
Earlier in his career, he was the Vice President-Controller of one of the leading full-service security and commodity broker/dealers. Mr. Pastena began his career with a small public accounting firm located in New York City.
He is a member of the AICPA and New York State Society of CPA’s and is on the advisory board of PAICR and MCNY’s MBA program he is also a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and participates in Baruch College’s Executives On Campus Program as a mentor.
