Dan Latimore, CFA Executive Director, IBM Institute for Business Value Mr. Daniel Latimore has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. As Executive Director of IBM’s Institute for Business Value, he serves as Research Director, leads the Americas practice, and oversees its Financial Services practice. Mr. Latimore has authored dozens of strategy studies with a focus on developing relevant, actionable recommendations that consider the strengths and limitations of institutions considering how to use technology to improve business value. His expertise in financial analysis and framework development and his broad experience across all lines of financial services has led to ongoing relationships with more than 40 clients around the world. In addition to being one of the drivers of the company’s business-oriented thought leadership, Mr. Latimore is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and is regularly quoted in the financial press and TV. Prior to joining Mainspring in 1999, Mr. Latimore served as director of mergers & acquisitions at Liberty Mutual Group, a Fortune 150 property and casualty company. Mr. Latimore also worked as an Associate at McKinsey & Company, Inc. While at McKinsey, he consulted with Fortune 500 companies on strategic and organizational issues. Mr. Latimore began his career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch where, during his seven-year tenure, he rose to become Vice President in the International Private Placements Group. For three years he worked in the London office, and also spent two years each in Tokyo and New York. Mr. Latimore holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree, cum laude, in philosophy and government from Dartmouth College, and a Master of Public Administration Degree from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government where he concentrated on business & government and economics. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute.
Founder & Principal, The Collaborative Beverly co-founded The Collaborative in 1995. In 2008, the firm launched a new venture, AdvisorsTrustedAdvisor.com (ATA) to meet the specific needs of independent investment advisors and wealth managers. Today, The Collaborative and ATA provide strategic business development services to financial services firms, investment firms, advisors, financial technology firms and professional services firms. Prior to co-founding The Collaborative, Beverly held several senior level sales, business development and business operations positions within John Hancock Financial Services’ Investment Sector. Beverly’s corporate background also includes executive search and retail banking. Beverly holds a B.S., B.A. and an M.B.A. from Suffolk University. She is a frequent speaker at investment industry events. Beverly and her partner, Mike Slemmer, CFA, have written a regular column for Family Wealth Report and have been featured in articles in Fundfire, Advisors’ Perspective, Investment News, Investment Advisor and the Financial Planning Association’s Solutions Magazine. Beverly is also a member of the Mental Health Councilors Association of America. Beverly is an adjunct professor at Suffolk University teaching undergraduate and graduate students, “Small Business Management” and “Dealing With Difficult People”, a course she created for the University. Since 1991 Beverly has offered training and one-on-one consultation for individuals to accomplish behavior modification in a variety of arenas. Beverly is a Certified Professional Behavioral Analyst (CPBA) and Certified Professional Values Analyst (CPVA) and uses the tools frequently in her work with clients. Beverly’s newest book, Understanding Other People: The Five Secrets to Human Behavior launched in May of 2009 and is available on Amazon.com.
